There is strong competition for teaching positions in the UAE so most positions require a teacher’s license and at least 1-2 years of full-time certified teaching experience.
Here’s a breakdown of the general requirements to teach in the UAE:
1. A Bachelor's degree that is relevant to the subject you are interested in teaching
2. A current teaching license from your local government relevant to whatever subject you wish to teach, or a TESL/TEFL certification. It’s important to note that if you want to teach math, you will need a teaching license in math. Please note that a TESL or TEFL is not a teaching license and will only qualify you for ESL positions in the UAE.
3. 1-2 years of relevant teaching experience at the required teaching level. For example, if you are applying to teach high school level English, you need to have at least 1-2 years of experience teaching high school English.
