These are the requirements for teaching in the UAE
Competition is steep for teaching positions in the UAE so most positions require a teacher’s license and at least 1-2 years of full-time certified teaching experience.
Here’s a breakdown of the UAE general requirements:
1. A Bachelor's degree that is relevant to the subject you are interested in teaching
2. A current teaching license from your local government relevant to whatever subject you wish to teach, or a TESL/TEFL certification. It’s important to note that if you want to teach math, you will need a teaching license in math. Please note that a TESL or TEFL is not a teaching license and will only qualify you for ESL positions in the UAE.
3. 1-2 years of relevant teaching experience at the required teaching level. If you are applying to teach high school level English, then you need to have at least 1-2 years of experience teaching high school English. The same is true at every level, whether you want to teach kindergarten or middle school level, you will need the appropriate experience to apply for these positions.
As each job posting has its own set of requirements, we highly recommend you pay close attention to the UAE jobs postings and the minimum requirements listed.
