How will I be assessed? Is there a final exam?

The methods used for assessing students in the OISE and IH TEFL courses

Continuous Assessment

Students are assessed through written assignments, multiple choice quizzes and a unit assessment. There is one quiz per module (lesson), and one written assignment per unit. The quiz needs an 80% for a pass. If you fail, you can immediately retake it as many times as needed to pass. The assignment is graded on a pass/fail basis and can be resubmitted as needed to pass.

At the end of each unit, there is a cumulative multiple choice final assessment on all of the unit's content. You will need a 70% to pass. If you fail, you can immediately retake the test as many times as needed to pass.

How tests are graded

A passing grade for the quizzes is 80%. All test/exams are multiple-choice and a passing grade is 70%. Written assignments are marked pass/fail. In the event that a learner fails a test or assignment, they can re-attempt it as many times as needed to achieve a passing grade. An experienced EFL instructor grades all assignments Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 PM. Personal feedback is provided to assist students.
