The methods used for assessing students in the OISE and IH TEFL courses
Continuous Assessment
Students are assessed through written assignments and tests, with one of each per unit in the course.
- Written assignments or reflection journals are written responses to reflection questions posed in a unit. You can download your all these questions in the Additional References tab.
- End-of-unit tests will be multiple choice that assesses your understanding of the unit.
Cumulative Final Test
- The final test will cover all units and must be completed after students have finished all the units.
How tests are graded
All test/exams are multiple-choice and a passing grade is 70%. Written assignments are marked pass/fail. In the event that a learner fails a test or assignment, they can re-attempt it as many times as needed to achieve a passing grade. An experienced EFL instructor grades all assignments Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 PM. Personal feedback is provided to assist students.
