To qualify for a teaching job abroad, you must have the education and experience listed under these four main categories:
ESL or teaching English abroad jobs
- Bachelor’s degree in any subject area
- EFL qualification (such as TEFL certification)
Certified or licensed teaching jobs
- Bachelor’s degree
- Teaching license from your home country
- 1-2 years of relevant teaching experience
Leadership and administration positions (e.g. Principal, Vice Principal, Counsellor, etc)
- Graduate degree
- Teaching license from your home country
ESL instructor positions at a university level
- Graduate degree
- EFL certification
- ESL teaching experience
