# How long until someone contacts me regarding my submitted job applications?

Your **[Teach Away Profile](https://www.teachaway.com/blog/what-schools-look-your-teach-away-profile-video)** is part of a proactive application process. Once it's ready, you need to apply directly to the jobs you're interested in on our **[job board.](https://www.teachaway.com/teaching-jobs-abroad)** We do not pair teachers with a personal recruiter who advises them on where to apply or applies on their behalf.

**"Direct to School" jobs:** The school(s) you applied for will contact you directly. Each school has its own hiring timelines so we cannot say when you can expect to hear back. Updating the status of your applications is the responsibility of the schools. Some schools are diligent about updating the status, but many receive too many applications to have time to provide an update to each application. They will simply reach out to candidates for interviews if they're interested in hiring them.

**Non-"Direct to School" jobs:** It can take a few weeks for our Placement Coordinators to review your application. If you are moving ahead in the hiring process, you will hear back from a Coordinator about setting up an interview. Due to the number of applications we receive, we are not able to contact all the candidates who are not moving forward in the hiring process. 

If you reach out to a Teach Away customer representative via email or phone, they will not be able to provide you with a status update on your application.
