Your Teach Away Profile is part of a proactive application process. Once it's ready, you need to apply directly to the jobs you're interested in on our jobs board. We do not pair teachers with a personal recruiter who advises them on where to apply or applies on their behalf.
"Direct to School" jobs: The school(s) you applied for will contact you directly. Each school has its own hiring timelines so we cannot say when you can expect to hear back. Updating the status of your applications, as seen in your dashboard, is the responsibility of the schools. Some schools are diligent about updating the status, but many receive too many applications to have time to update each status. They will simply reach out to candidates for interviews if they're interested in hiring them.
Non-"Direct to School" jobs: It can take 1-2 weeks for our Placement Coordinators to review your application. If you are moving ahead in the hiring process, you will hear back from a Coordinator about setting up an interview. Due to the number of applications we receive, we are not able to contact all the candidates who are not moving forward in the hiring process.
Check the status of your application(s) from your profile dashboard. This will be the most up-to-date information about your applications. If you reach out to a Teach Away customer representative via email or phone, they will not able to provide you with a status update beyond what is already in your dashboard.
